Before She Drifts Away

A world with no sun,
The embers dying off,
Our future in doubt,
A burning in our eyes.

The light blinds us,
A sight to foresee,
Kissing our skin—
Our precious sun.

She burns for us,
Yet we don’t notice
Her pure compassion,
Her endless love.

She won’t burn forever,
One day she’ll be gone—
A love we’ll be without,
And earth will cease to exist.

Before she drifts away,
Know the love in her heart.
One day, we will miss our sun—
Let it sink in, before it’s too late.
